Difficulties in Providing International Support for People with Disabilities in Cambodia

Cambodia’s domestic policy towards supports for people with disabilities is not well-developed, and support from abroad has been historically essential. However, overseas yet sufficiently advanced, nor it consistent. In this study, we interviewed three engaged in activities to identify the factors that are causing difficulties foreign supporters or groups developing Cambodia. The following five points were identified as main education welfare Cambodia: 1) inconsistent understanding among Cambodian of significance educating providing disabilities, 2) interpreting technical terms concepts do exist Cambodia, 3) 3)unestablished professional positions their supporters, 4) identifying local leadership, 5) difficulty due closed nature relationships. interviews study only highlight above issues case studies, but also provides successful examples how solve these problems. findings will be useful planning future
